Transformations Series

A blind, whether commercially produced or hand-made, becomes a transitional device at once separating and at once filtering what lies beyond. Seen on the wall, the blinds are recognized as images. However placed in space, they become objects physically invading the viewers’ world. These are consequently forced to interact with the blinds by walking between them and flipping them opened or closed. The turning wand thus becomes a magical tool transporting the viewers to a new world of creativity and imagination.

Although originating from one image, the individual blinds in the Transformations series each have a unique voice. While the colors and details shift either subtly or explicitly, they convey different moods and point out different aspects of the image.
